Ethanol produced from corn and sugar canes. The same Ethanol you find in alcoholic beverages is the same Ethanol to power Ethanol powered cars. This product have become popular since its easy and known how to produce and can be used in about 45 flex fuel vehicles.
Driving the Ethanol powered cars will benefit both the economy and the environment pollution. Using the Ethanol will reduce dramatically the need for foreign oil and save up to 300 million barrels each year if countries like the US will convert 10% of its cars, into Ethanol powered cars. The environmental help is even bigger, when the Ethanol is producing only 75% of the environmental pollution gasses.
The only problem with the Ethanol at the moment is the production prices, the highest in the alternative fuels cars market. Each gallon of Ethanol costs around $2.25 to produce, Oil in to gasoline costs almost half. Until the prices will not get closer, it will be hard to justify the conversion to Ethanol powered cars. Another pressure on this market is the global food market, which is suffering from less corn and sugar canes into the food markets, since this grows are going to transportation solutions.
In the following years, the environment pollution and other environmental issues will raise and become more important. The black gold prices will rise again, like in 2008 and will fight the ethanol powered cars market. The future is going to the green way, more Ethanol powered cars and less Oil products on the roads.
