While using the solar energy to heat water, you must collect the sun power efficiently and use it for the water heather. The energy is collected on black surfaces which absorb the light and the power within it and this energy is divert to the water pipes and water tanks to heat up the water.

Advanced solar water heating technologies can heat the water almost to the boiling temperature and save them such for long period of time. In the daily life it means that you can come back from work after the sunset, heat up your house with the water heating system and take hot shower. The water remains hot and does not mixed with cold water.

In order to avoid the lost of heat at solar systems such these, the designers and producers are facing and handling three major problems: Convections of the hot water, re radiation of the energy and conduction.

Convection of the hot water happens when the heat is transferred to other places like the air around the water or some metal parts. Wind on the water tank and using wrong materials to build the tanks can cause this convection. Designers know how to use isolated materials and how to vacuum the area around the water in order to solve this to happen and to optimize the solar system.

Re radiation from the water heather panels and surfaces happen when there are other surfaces to collect the heat from the sun power. The lost energy is too valuable to loose and must be collected by the right elements in order to rise the efficiently of the solar system. Designers have the knowledge about special materials and surface treatments. These are the main two elements to take care about, in order to reduce as much as possible the re radiation from the solar system.
Conduction is the lost of heat because of touch. The collecting surfaces are touching some other metal elements in the system, touching plastic carriers and glass scales. All the above are conducting some heat and the cause is that the water needs more energy from the solar system, in order to get heat. In most cases, simple isolation activity is solving this problem.
 
Solar energy is out there, but in order to save solar energy and in order to maximize the use and the efficiently of the systems, designers know how to come over the thermal problems and to design and build the best solar system for heating water.
